Seyborn U. Day, 87, died Sunday, July 19, 2015 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Facility in Newberry.

Born in Aiken County, SC and a son of the late Seyborn U. Day and Myrtie Ella Brown Broadway, he was married to Loretta Lawson Day for 68 years. Mr. Day was a US Marine Corps veteran during the Korean Conflict and was retired from the Chrysler Corporation after 32 years. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and the Hollywood Ruritan Club.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Lee Day and Debra Day Charlton (David) both of Saluda, SC, three grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and two great-grandsons.

Mr. Day was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Snipes.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Jerrod Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
