Shelby Hurt Smith, 74, died Monday, March 26, 2018 at Lexington Medical Center.
Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Dewey Hammond "Hamp" and Frances Lake Hurt, she was the wife of the late Robert Hamilton "Bobby" Smith. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Saluda High School Class of 1961 and was retired from the Secretary of State of South Carolina.
Surviving are a daughter, Jesseca Smith Cunningham (Michael) of Lexington, two sisters, Geraldine Bowers (Aughtry) of Columbia and Winifred Griffith (Frank) of Saluda and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Hurt.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Furman Matthews Cemetery with Rev. Mike Troxel officiating.
