Sheree Shealy

Sheree Lynn Shealy, 68, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2025, at her home after a courageous journey through years of chronic pain.

Born in New Braunfels, Texas, she was a daughter of Madelyn Ann Lahodney Sauer and the late Grady Wilmore Shealy. Sheree was a graduate of Saluda High School class of 1974 and attended Piedmont Technical College. She was a faithful member of Spann United Methodist Church in Ward and held a strong, unwavering faith in Jesus Christ throughout her life. A devoted dental hygienist and receptionist, she spent over 40 remarkable years as a cherished part of Dr. Sam F. Wheeler's dental practice, where her gentle presence, warm smile, and kind heart touched the lives of countless patients and coworkers alike. Sheree found great joy in her career, forming lifelong friendships and becoming a cornerstone of the practice. Outside of work, she was a woman of many passions and a spirit all her own.

An avid college football fan, she especially loved cheering on her beloved South Carolina Gamecocks—fall Saturdays were sacred. Her heart belonged to the salt air and slow tides of Edisto Beach, her "happy place," where she found peace and inspiration in the natural world.

She was an artist at heart—creative, thoughtful, and deeply connected to nature and animals. With a free spirit and a heart full of grace, she truly marched to the beat of her own drum. Her friends often described her as angelic, radiating kindness and compassion wherever she went.

In her later years, Sheree faced pain with quiet strength, never letting it dim her light. She continued to show up for others with courage, humor, and a smile. Now, she is finally free of pain, embraced by the peace she so deeply deserves.

Surviving are her mother, Madelyn Ann Lahodney Sauer of Saluda, two sisters, Michelle Shealy of Ward and Kim Steele of Ridge Spring, a niece, Brittany Steele of Saluda, a great niece, Shealy Ann Waters, two fur babies, Marcus and Neena, and her dental family.

Sheree is reunited with her best friend on earth now in heaven, Glenda Miller Risinger.

A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Spann Methodist Church, 150 Church Street, Ward, SC 29166. Due to the church not having air conditioning, the family kindly requests guests dress in comfortable, informal attire.
