Sherene Nicholson

Richie Sherene Phillips Nicholson, 80, died Monday, September 18, 2023, at her home.

Born in Leah, Georgia, and a daughter of the late Mundy Phillips and Mildred Storey Phillips, she was the wife of the late Jerald "Jerry" Wayne Nicholson. She was a retired teacher from McDuffie and Columbia County School System and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Surviving are a son, Dwight Nicholson (Tuyen) of Evans, GA, a daughter, Pamela Barnes of Saluda SC, a brother, Tommy Phillips of Wrens, GA and three grandchildren, C.J. Tran-Nicholson, Taylor Tran-Nicholson and Daniel Joseph Nicholson.

Mrs. Nicholson was preceded in death by a brother, William Earl Phillips, and two sisters, Gloria Jewel Colet, and Joy Boatwright.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Jerrod Marshall and Rev. Stacy Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM prior to the service in the church social hall.
