Steven Wilson Price
Steven Wilson Price, 64, of Saluda, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Greenwood, SC on April 12, 1960, he was a son of the late Rae Wilson and Bobby Ray Ivie, and Billy Price. He was formerly employed with Knight Industries as an industrial mechanic and was a member of Saluda Baptist Church.
Steve found solace in the great outdoors where his passion for hunting and fishing allowed him to connect with nature and reflect on life's simple pleasures. Whether teaching his sons how to cast a line or sharing stories around a campfire, he cherished the moments that brought his family closer together. He was the kind of father that his sons could count on. Whether it was navigation through a tough decision or fixing something around the house, he had a steady thoughtful answer.
Steve was a loving husband, who was devoted to his wife. From the small everyday gestures like making her coffee in the mornings to grand moments of support during life's challenges, he made her feel cherished and valued. He was a man of endless words, filling the air with stories, ideas, or questions. His chatter could be overwhelming at times, but it was rooted in his deep love and admiration for her.
Steve was a man of unwavering strength and determination, a pillar of his family's foundation. He was known for his headstrong nature, tackling life with an unyielding determination that bordered on stubbornness. Once he set his mind to something, there was no persuading him otherwise. Steve was a tough man by reputation, but when it came to his granddaughters, he was a complete softie. From the moment that they entered his life, they had him wrapped around their little fingers, and he wouldn't have it any other way. Whether it was having picnics on top of hay bales, riding them on the four-wheeler through the woods, or letting them play horsey on his back, he loved every second spent with them.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Kim Cauthen Price; sons, Josh Price (Whitney) and Jacob Price all of Saluda; granddaughters, Presley Price and Reagan Price; and soon to be born granddaughter, Noa Brooke Price; siblings, Ted Price (Lisa) of Celebration, FL, Roxanne Padgett (Russell) of Simpsonville, Marilyn Price (Jason) of Saluda, Victor "Vic" Price (Tiffiny) of Saluda, Greg Ivie of Greenwood, Cyndy Timmerman of Powdersville and Matthew Price (Cristina) of France; mother-in-law, Judy Goff Cameron and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Meredith Havird, Chase Martin, Tom Dorn, Jesse Quattlebaum, Ryan Nichols, Pedro Deluna, Tyson Kelly, and Hunter Price.
Honorary pallbearers are family and special friends, David McDaniel, Keith Able, Terry Kelly, and Darron Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Saluda Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.
