Tara Alexis Garland Sims, 29, died Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at her residence.
Born in Lexington County and a daughter of Sheryl Nan Evans and Leonard David Garland, she was the wife of Larry Jason Sims. Tara was a fulltime student at Winthrop University and a member of the student veterans of Winthrop. She was an assistant manager of Revolutions in Rock Hill and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Batesburg.
Surviving are her husband, Larry Jason Sims, a son, Richard Hamlin "JR" Adams, Jr. of Saluda, her mother, Sheryl Nan Evans of Saluda, her father, Leonard David Garland of Silverstreet and her maternal grandmother, Shirley Evans Gunter of Saluda.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Friday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Beauford, Bishop Jim Outen and Mason/Shriner Glenn Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in Mayson Memorial Cemetery.
