Teddy Boydell Jordan, 78, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025, at his residence.
Born on January 3, 1947, he was a son of the late Gladys Nobles Robinson and Calvin "Boydell" Jordan.
Teddy was a native of Conway, SC and served in the US Navy. In 1969, while working for Lance Snack Company, he moved to Saluda, SC. He was a dedicated community leader who wore many hats over the years. Teddy was a proud member of the Saluda Jaycees and Saluda High School Booster Club for many years. His love for sports and mentorship led him to coach Dixie Youth Baseball for several years and his passion for horses inspired him to start the 4-H Horse Club in Saluda County.
In 1994, Teddy returned to Conway and lived sixteen years near his siblings, cousins, and numerous friends. Thereafter, Teddy returned to Saluda to live his final years with his sons, daughters-in-law and five grandchildren, whom he adored and came to be affectionally known as O'Pa by many.
Surviving are his two sons, Jeffrey Jordan (Nancy) of Saluda and Jason Jordan (Jacquelyn) of Greenwood; five grandchildren, Nyla, Natalie, Nora, Sadie, and Hobson; two sisters, Carolyn Teasley of Conway and Jackie Roy (Raymond) of Cincinnati, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, as well as the family of a special friend Helen Register, Kimberly Yelton (Jason) and their two daughters, Layna and Gracie of Clayton, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Kenny Jordan.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Pleasant Union Baptist Church, 2940 Minnick Road, Aynor, SC 29511, followed by gathering in the social hall to share stories and memories of Teddy with hors d'oeuvres.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to American Legion Post 65, PO Box 98, Saluda, SC 29138.
