Thelma Shaw

Thelma Leona Connelly Shaw, 91, passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at her home.

Born in Newberry and a daughter of the late George Hugh Connelly and Martha Mann Connelly, she was the wife of the late John Andrew Shaw. She was a seamstress who worked from home, having previously worked at Saluda Shirt Plant and Milliken. She was also employed with Saluda School District 1. Mrs. Shaw was a member of Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church where she was in the WHFMS Chapter.

Surviving are a son, George W. Shaw (Debra) of Prosperity, a granddaughter, Adrienne D. Shaw of Saluda, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Shaw is preceded in death by three brothers, Hugh Hamilton "Buck" Connelly, George Thomas "Tommy" Connelly and Forrest William "Bill" Connelly, and one sister, Verdie "Polly" Green.

A funeral service will be held at 12 PM, Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Hickory Grove Advent Christian Church with Rev. Tommy Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
