Toby Saylors

Toby O'Neal Saylors age 62 of Mt. Pleasant, SC., was born in Albany, GA on January 14, 1961 and passed away Sunday January 29, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a shrimper from the early 80's through 2005, he shrimped from Shem Creek to Key West and a lot of other ports along the East Coast. In 2006 he changed careers to become a crew boat captain for Starfleet Marine Transportation, Inc. working in the Gulf of Mexico Oilfield as well as working on a research vessel in Panama City Beach until 2021. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well planting and caring for his flowers and plants. He loved playing live and online poker.

Toby is predeceased by his father Thomas P. Saylors and mother-in-law Aida J. Portugues.

Toby is survived by his wife Lisa Saylors, his mother Annie Lois Saylors, sister Rhonda Pace (Jimmy), Step-daughters Michele Kirkland (Bryan), Maressa Lidster (Andrew) and Morgan Thomason. Grandchildren Tyler, Camrion, Camiella, Kamora, TJ, Asher, Beau and Tinsley. Sister-in-laws Sulinda Morales, Mickey McMullen (Michael), brother-in-law Guy Morales (Christene) father-in-law's Chino Morales and Angel Portugues as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 23023 at Good Hope Baptist Church, 1738 Greenwood Highway Saluda, SC 29138 with Rev. Lee Going officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
