Tony Marvin Cockrell, 59, died Monday, October 24, 2016 at Providence Hospital.

Born in Augusta, GA and a son of the late Jacob Marvin and Maggie Oree Salters Cockrell, he was the husband of Sharon Lynn Hutto Cockrell. Tony started Cockrell Construction in the early 90's. He was a master craftsman and woodworker and used his God given talents to create exceptional structures and works of art. He was a devoted Christian and genuine good person. He had a love for people and always greeted you with a hug and smile. Tony was devoted to his God, his Church and his family. He enjoyed traveling the Country on vacations.

Surviving are his wife Sharon Lynn Hutto Cockrell, a son, Jake Cockrell (Ina) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a daughter, Nikki Cox (Neal) of Coward, SC, a brother, Johnny Cockrell of Batesburg, two sisters, Marlene Vereen and Sheila Trull both of Greenwood and four grandsons, Nathan, Tyler and Eli Cox and Max Cockrell.

Tony was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin "Joe" Cockrell.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday evening at Celebration Church.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Celebration Church with Rev. Jerry Brunson officiating. Interment will follow in Furman Matthews Cemetery.
