Trudell Rodgers
Trudell Rodgers, 97, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2022 at Saluda Nursing Center.
Mr. Rodgers was born July 27, 1925 in Ward, SC, he was the oldest of 9 children born to the late Loyd and Julia Norris Rodgers.
At the age of 18 he was drafted into service as a US Marine Corps. He was honored to serve in the Pacific Campaign of WWII. Upon return from the war, he married the late Christine Cockrell Rodgers. They were married for seventy years. He owned and operated Rodgers Floor Covering for many years in the town of Saluda. After the close of the store Mr. Rodgers maintained working until he was 80 as a floor installer. He was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Mike Rodgers (Janice) of Easley, a daughter, Pam McCary (Randall) of Saluda, two brothers, Homer 'Buddy" Rodgers, Sr. and William "Bill" Rodgers both of Saluda, three sisters, Corine "Doll" Bailey of Ward, Theresa Taylor and Mimie Hall both of Saluda, five grandchildren, Eric Rodgers (Brooke), Paige White (Brandon) Brent Rodgers (Ellen), Amy Ouzts (Charlie), Lauren Standifer (Grafton), and seven great-grandchildren, Ethan, Lille, Liege, Oliver, Henry, Eleanor, Sydney and the eighth one on the way.
Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel "Sambo" Rodgers, Sr., and two sisters, Lelia May Workman, and Carrie Bell Cockrell.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Travis Park Cemetery with Rev. David Cockrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., at Ramey Funeral Home prior to the service.
