Vinetta Nicholson

Vinetta Smith Nicholson, 98, died Saturday, May 6, 2023 at her home.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Patrick Eugene Smith and Sudie Mae Rice Smith, she was the wife of the late James Heyward Nicholson. Mrs. Nicholson was the owner and operator of Nicholson Furniture Store and a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are her two sisters, Jessie Werts and Sara Crawford both of Saluda and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Nicholson was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Smith, and two sisters, Lula Mae Jester and Doris Jay.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Going officiating. Interment will follow in Mayson Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Hope Baptist Church, 1738 Greenwood Hwy, Saluda, SC 29138.
