Viola Goff

Viola Emelie Nicholson Goff, 101, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at her home.

Born in Saluda and a daughter of the late Paul L. and Emelise Wyatt Nicholson, she was the wife of the late Wiley Tillman Goff. She was a beautician for over 60 years. An avid member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School, was UMYF leader for many years and sang in the choir. She was also in the Garden Club and loved to garden, as well as having a love for hosting meetings along with tea parties. Mrs. Viola also loved to travel and enjoyed the beauty of America. She touched so many lives in our little town.

Surviving are three daughters, Paula Willis of Saluda, Lynn Freeland (Terry) of Lawrenceville, GA and Leese Crawford of Saluda, six grandchildren, Nathan Willis (Rhonda) of Saluda, Marla Edgerley (Dale) of Saluda, Miriam Willis (Kevin) of Saluda, Gina Rogers (Jerry) of Saluda, Clayton Corley (Nick) of Southern Pines, NC and Will Freeland (Krysten) of Charleston, SC, 10 great-grandchildren, a nephew, Jimmy Smith (Jean), and a niece, Jackie Avery.

The family will receive friends 5 PM until 7 PM Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the home of Mrs. Viola Goff.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, October 14, 2022 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Cameron Levi officiating. Interment will follow at Travis Park Cemetery. The family will also receive friends following the service.
