Virginia Witt

Ruth Virginia Trotter Witt, 94, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, surrounded by her family.

Born in Saluda, and a daughter of the late George Trotter and Ella Ruth Hazel Trotter. She retired from Monsanto and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Lavinia Witt Hipp (Ronnie) of Ninety Six, Linda Witt Eaves (Joe) of Liberty, and Christina Witt Gordan of North Myrtle Beach, two sons, Richard Marion Witt of Greenwood and Gregg Henry Witt of Augusta, GA, a brother, Edger Trotter of Aiken, seven grandchildren, Brian Hipp, Amanda Johnson, Jay Hipp, Kevin Witt, Grace Witt, Joshua Ochiltree, and McKenzie Viestenz, and 6 great-grandchildren, Elijah Hipp, Charles Johnson, Olivia Johnson, Clayton Ochiltree, Wyatt Ochiltree and Dianna Ochiltree.

Mrs. Witt was preceded in death by ten siblings, John Carol Trotter, Linda Trotter, G.H. Trotter, Hubert Trotter, Mariana Trotter Whitesall, Novis Trotter Harmon, Colie Trotter, Elliott Trotter, Deloris Trotter Turner, and Keller Trotter.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Burton Campbell and Rev. Brian Hipp officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
