Vivian Reed Matthews 93, died Saturday, January 27,2018 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Newberry County and a daughter of the late Alfred Ernest and Maud Ethel Glenn Reed, she was the wife of the late Ralph Lenear Matthews. Mrs. Matthews was retired from Maxway and was a homemaker and bookkeeper. Mrs. Matthews was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, and former Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are two sons, Dr. Ralph Wayne Matthews (Dr. Sandra Matthews) of Belton TX, Melvin Randolph Matthews (Emma) of Batesburg, SC, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and Nannie's special angels, Donna Berry and Lacey Addy.

Mrs. Matthews is preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian Charlene Matthews, a brother Alfred Joseph Reed and a granddaughter, October Matthews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 3:30 pm, Wednesday, January 31,2018 at Ramey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Burton Campbell and Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Lewis C. Matthews Cemetery.
