Wayne Corley

Robert Wayne Corley, 72, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.

Born in Joanna, S.C., and a son of the late Vernon Nathaniel Corley and Betty Ann Humphries Corley, he was the husband of Betty Mae Butler Corley. He was a retired electrician from Greenwood Mills and a member of the Quarter Century Club as well as Hopewell Methodist Church in Joanna, S.C.

Mr. Corley was a passionate fan of racing and cowboy movies, always finding joy in the thrill of the race and the classic tales of the Old West. He also had a natural talent for welding and fabrication, often spending hours in his workshop creating things with his hands. Whether it was fixing something in need of repair or crafting something new, his craftsmanship was second to none, and he took great pride in the work he did.

Surviving alongside his wife of 32 years are two daughters, Carolyn Tinsley (Shawn) of Clinton and Christy Corley Holmes (Jontez) of Norfolk, V.A., two sons, Tosh Corley (Christy) of Clinton and Nathan Corley (Kirsty) of Honea Path, two brothers, Vernon Corley and Rock Corley both of Clinton, eight grandchildren, Brandon Tinsley (Claire), Katelyn Tinsley, R.T. Corley, Lillie Corley, Will Corley, Bella Holmes, Layla Holmes, and Riley McSwain, and a great-grandchild, Cohen Tinsley.

Mr. Corley was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Parrish and a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Corley.

The family would like to send special thanks to the ICU and ER at Self Regional Healthcare.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Hopewell Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Buddy Cockrell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
