Wilenna Koon

Wilenna Louise Rowe Koon, 76, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Aiken Regional Medical Center.

Born in Saluda County, a daughter of the late Homer Rowe and Mattie Lou Smith Rowe, she was the wife of the late Jimme Lee Koon, Jr. Mrs. Koon retired from the Greenwood County School District. She was a member of Butler United Methodist Church.

She was a proud member of the Saluda Quilting Club where she spent many hours creating beautiful quilts, a testament to her skill, patience, and love of craftsmanship. In addition to her quilting, Mrs. Koon was a talented seamstress who offered alterations to many in the community, always ensuring that each piece of clothing fit perfectly and was treated with care. She took great pride in helping others look and feel their best. Mrs. Koon was also passionate about crocheting, a hobby that she cherished for many years.

She is survived by a son, Jeremy Koon (Tonya) of Saluda, a daughter, Tippany Hall of Lexington, two sisters, Diane Holly of Ridge Spring and Juanita Ward of North Augusta, a brother, Homer Lee Rowe of Saluda, four grandchildren, Maghan Koon (Patrick Edwards), Zackhary Koon, Daemian Hall and Daeyton Hall, two great-grandsons, Tyson Lee Edwards, Raiden Hall, and one on the way, an adopted great-grandchild, Blakelynn Waller, her fur baby, Cowboy Koon, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Ramey Funeral Home on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 6 – 8 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home of her sister, Mrs. Juanita Ward.

The funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Butler Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Higgins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
