Willette Miller

Willette Gentry Miller, 93, died Saturday, November 30, 2019 at her residence.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Columbus David Gentry and Lula Mae Shealy Gentry, she was the wife of the late Ansel Bryant Miller. Mrs. Miller was retired from Peoples Drug Company and was a member of Emory United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Miller Herlong Knapp (Bill) of Seven Lakes, NC and Kathy Miller Dozier (George) of Whispering Pines, NC, a sister-in-law, Lorine Gentry of Saluda, four grandchildren, Mike Herlong (B.J.) of Saluda, Bo Herlong (Joy) of Chesapeake, VA, Rodney Dozier (Tabatha) of Whispering Pines, NC and David Dozier of Southern Pines, NC, four great-grandchildren, Brooke Dozier McNeill, Kearsten Dozier, Josiah Herlong and Eli Herlong and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by four brothers, Sam Gentry, Bo Gentry, Richard Gentry and John Gentry, five sisters, Neva Salters, Bernice Gentry, Thelma Goodman, Claudette Gentry and Jackie Wasson and a furry companion, Jyp.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Emory United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Freeman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church social hall.
