William Monroe Dickson, 88, died June 24, 2019 in his home in Chappells.

A native of Iva, SC, he was the son of the late Grover Monroe Dickson, Sr. and Lillie Irene Gibbs Dickson, and husband of Angela Lynn Griffith Dickson. He was a retired general contractor with Pinkerton and Laws in Atlanta, served in the US Navy during the Korean War, and was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Angela Lynn Griffith Dickson, two children, Kimberly Shealy (Sam) of Saluda and Todd Dickson (Emily) of Chappells, three grandchildren, Lake and Lynlee Shealy and Brylee Dickson, a brother, Grover Dickson, Jr (Faye), a sister, Margie Durham, and a sister-in-law, Sue Dickson.

Mr. Dickson is preceded in death by four brothers, O.G., Ray, Franklin and Jack Dickson, and seven sisters, Grace Childress, Maybelle Hayes, Myrtle Griffin, Martha Pippin, Ann Doolittle, Dorothy Dickson and Bessie Dickson.

Funeral services will be held at Good Hope Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, with Rev. Jeremy Beauford officiating. Interment will follow at Mayson Memorial. The family will receive visitors before the service starting at 2:00 PM.
